The weekend got off to a busy start in Havre de Grace when members of the Susquehanna Hose Company were called to battle a fast-moving blaze near the intersection of Carpenters Point Road and Woodall Road.

Upon arrival, officials said that crews were met by a fully-involved fire and they were forced to attack the blaze defensively.

The bulk of the fire was knocked down before 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14, though firefighters remained at the scene to continue extinguishing any hot spots or flare-ups.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation. No injuries were initially reported.
